Rouen is best known for the city with a hundred spires. It deserves a visit for its monuments, Gothic art being particularly well represented, but also for the charm of its alleyways and the many half-timbered houses.Founded before the Roman’s, Rouen is Normandy’s largest city, with plenty of shops, restaurants, markets and museums. The City’s most impressive landmark is the Cathedral of Notre Dame which holds the tomb of Richard the Lionheart.
